What to do in and around our little town of Chudleigh.

Chudleigh is a pretty little village located 7 km east of Mole Creek. You will pass through its main street as you drive between Mole Creek and Deloraine and immediately get a sense of the community pride of Chudleigh residents from the immaculate rose gardens which extend along its length and the community park at its heart.

Chudleigh lies in one of the prettiest valleys in all of Tasmania making it one of the best places in the world to stop, refuel and smell the roses. Enjoy house-made delights, select from our large range of retro clothing, antiques and collectables or just watch the world go by with the backdrop of the Great Western Tiers

+ Go underground at Mole Creek Caves

With sparkling calcite crystals, underground rivers and delicate formations decorating the chambers, the Mole Creek Cave tours are not to be missed if you are travelling through the area. With three cave tours available you can spend a whole day touring these significant conservation sites, including the Marakoopa cave which showcases the largest public glow-worm display in Australia.

+ Bee inquisitive at Melita Honey Farm

With over 50 varieties of honey to discover you’ll be overwhelmed by all the fun, there is to bee had at Melita Honey Farm. If you aren’t fans of the golden nectar you can still enjoy their delicious house-made nougat or ice cream while uncovering a real beehive (behind glass!) with a fun and family-friendly interactive display.

Tasmania has incredible produce and if you have time to spare we encourage you visit the following businesses along the tasting trail near our shop; Truffles of Tasmania, Tasmanian Truffles, 41° South Salmon and Ginseng Farm, Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm Café, 3 Willows Vineyard and the Blueberry Farm.

+ Chase waterfalls

Lobster Falls, Westmorland Falls, and Liffey Falls are all in close proximity for those that want to chase waterfalls, after filling up for food at our general store of course!

+ Explore a bit further afield

Allum Cliffs and Devil’s Gullet provide for quick day options and Walls of Jerusalem is your best bet if you are keen on a multi-day option to dust off your hiking boots. If you are wanting to see some wildlife without trekking off the beaten path however you should check out Trowanna Wildlife Sanctuary.
